MIPA: Building a Supportive Community for Families with Young Children
The Mercer Island Preschool Association (MIPA), established in 1937, is a resource for families with children from newborns through kindergarten. We are a network of new and experienced parents dedicated to fostering a thriving community for families with young children on Mercer Island.
Note that you don’t have to have children in a preschool to be part of MIPA. MIPA is for all families with children from 0-6 years old.
MIPA is your information hub for what you may need today and for planning ahead. We have strong ties to Mercer Island PTAs and provide information about local preschools, schools, resources, and engaging activities for children. The Preschool & Activities Fair is a one-stop shop for learning about what you may want to plan for your child. We also provide legislative updates.
MIPA is your connection to other island families. There are social times for parents and for children, weekly and monthly opportunities to connect, and memorable events for your family like Circus, a Mercer Island tradition since 1966.
MIPA is an advocate for families with young children. We’re a dedicated group of parents committed to advocating for children's resources with the city, the school district, and other island organizations. We have been strong supporters of parks and playgrounds throughout the island.
Participation in MIPA activities is open to everyone. Membership is optional and offers the opportunity to directly support the organization's ongoing efforts.
If you'd like, consider joining or renewing your membership.
